Couple of tunes here from Hodge, who hails from Bristol. Now, I know a few Bristolians (is that a word?), but none of them have the mad bass-loving production skills of Hodge. I've linked a couple of tunes here - one of which (Hackers) I think is getting a release some time soon. Hackers is, incidentally, probably my favourite of the two tunes. It's got something of Floating Points vs. Joy Orbison about it: soulful, deep and bassy. Great tune and one I can't stop listening to. The Hackman remix is a bit more easy to define. If I had to make comparisons (which I don't but... I guess I'm going to anyway), I'd say it reminds me of something by Kingdom/ Roska - it's definitely part of that new minimal, bass driven House sound. Love it. Love both, and looking forward to more stuff from a very talented producer. Check out the soundcloud for a few future garage and dubstep bits which aren't half bad either.

Apathesis
9 Months old, sure, but still an absolutely UNBELIEVABLE tune. Amazing. The vocal stabs and effects are just beautiful.
Definitely head over to Apathesis' soundcloud, pretty much everything on there is sheer brilliance. Shame there's been nothing new for a while!

Lazers and Ravers
Quite a serious piece of tune here, from those Yankee fellas Lazer Sword. I'm sure you're aware of the value placed on the currency of bounce at this here blog, and 'Batman' packs it in abundance. Some very tasty touches layered over it as well, keeping it moving nicely:

Kanopa
Getting sooo much vibes from Melé, who is 100% on my watchlist for 'people that are fucking awesome'. Impossible not to move to this one - I had no idea someone from Merseyside could be so upbeat (I joke...). Big, big track, and plenty more on the SC worth checking out.

Cole Heart
A quick snippet from the legendary MJ Cole today, featuring a strings/harps run laid over some deep bass which is just awesome. Can't wait for the new EP - Cole is just too versatile!

Freaks
For those who like their bass with a little bounce, check this out - it's a kind of tech house infused funky number from Sclist. Not for everyone, but the incidentals and the percussion are on point.

Pushin' Silence
Feel like getting back on the future garage tip today. This is a bit from Joe Caithness out of Nottingham, who goes by the name of Littlefoot (that's right, I read the artist info on Soundcloud). His garagey approach to tech brings a bit of movement and change-up to his tunes, but I'm not sure if they're really dancefloor-ready. Or dancefloor-intended. One to watch, though!

Flutes
Right, don't usually post DnB because ... well, I don't know that much about it, if I'm brutally honest, and because it's usually a bit too quick for my laconic self. But this tune is actually a minor piece of genius. Track's called 'Princess', it's by a guy called Receptor who I know nothing about, and it's been out for about half a year. But so what?
The song features that flute sample, but it's probably the best use of it I've ever seen (heard), and aside from the traditional kind of jump-up/wile out edge, the whole things really not too aggressive compared to the rest of his stuff (and I've just listened to all his soundcloud tunes for at least 2 minutes, so I should know). Not my usual thing, but really not bad.

Hazy
Lovely bit of chilled, end-of-summer hop here. The man's name is Dan Marshall, tune's called 'Mode Reset'. It's as smooth as they come... kick back and turn up!
