Whale

Wow. Bass. This is why I love Lung. Been a while since he did anything 'dubstep' but it was worth the wait, very deep tune from the Cardiff lad.

Long Nights

I guess winter must be coming, because Kontigo seems to have snuck back on to my ipod. Lovely tune. It's somewhere in the region of Synkro, Lojik, Burial and the like - that kind of sound that makes you want to cry your eyes out sitting at the bus stop at 3am.
Not that that's something I ever do.

All night long by Kontigo

S&R

Obviously a shoe-in for some bloggage. Two of the best FG producers out there right now, doing their thing (collaboratively). I probably prefer their individual bits and pieces, but it's kind of hard to ignore anything they put out at the moment.

Lead The Way, Sir

Never heard of Blind Prophet before, but apparently he's an FG producer out of New York. I've been feeling pretty superior to the Yanks in the wake of Monday's victory, but this one made me sit back and think "well...they're alright, I guess". Lovely pads, sub heavy, eerie-vocals... perfect tune for a mellow night.

FTWR

Top dubstep tune here courtesy of the always on point FTWR. No idea who Magenta is, but feeling the deep, bassy Kryptic Minds-style feel of this track. Noice.

FTW011 Magenta - The Sphynx by For The Win Records

And then there's this cheeky piece of minimal DnB (not courtesy of FTWR), which feels kind of like the soundtrack to a spy thriller/action game. Maybe a bit too much? Make up your own mind, it's pretty good shit either way.

Nightscape by Naibu

And finally, Max Cooper has got a new tune out which you should definitely have a listen to. And then buy/steal/etc. As one of the comments says, it's '100% Max Cooper' - always a good thing.

I realise I've been posting a lot of deep, minimal house type stuff, and I also realise I've started posting/wanting to post an awful lot about VVV. But I can't help it, because VVV is/are as amazing as they are enigmatic. This one speaks for itself-

atavistic memory by VVV

And what about Demospro? Well, he makes great tunes, my current favourite of which is this one. Partly because it reminds me a bit of playing Dynasty Warriors, but mostly because it's just incredible. Melodic, but still fast paced and banging, and basically a bit of everything that dnb should be about. Sweet.

And here's an older FG one I somehow missed out on, just as a bonus!

Tell You

Bassline at its sumptuous best. And when I say bassline I don't mean of the 'Heartbroken' kind (although I do kind of like that song), I mean of the soulful UK Garage kind. Great bounce, great structure, and great sampling work on Stevie's vocals - always a dangerous thing to attempt but Para pulls it of with aplomb. Definitely going to be rinsing this tune for the next month. And you should be to.

Hodge-podge

Couple of tunes here from Hodge, who hails from Bristol. Now, I know a few Bristolians (is that a word?), but none of them have the mad bass-loving production skills of Hodge. I've linked a couple of tunes here - one of which (Hackers) I think is getting a release some time soon. Hackers is, incidentally, probably my favourite of the two tunes. It's got something of Floating Points vs. Joy Orbison about it: soulful, deep and bassy. Great tune and one I can't stop listening to. The Hackman remix is a bit more easy to define. If I had to make comparisons (which I don't but... I guess I'm going to anyway), I'd say it reminds me of something by Kingdom/ Roska - it's definitely part of that new minimal, bass driven House sound. Love it. Love both, and looking forward to more stuff from a very talented producer. Check out the soundcloud for a few future garage and dubstep bits which aren't half bad either.

Apathesis

9 Months old, sure, but still an absolutely UNBELIEVABLE tune. Amazing. The vocal stabs and effects are just beautiful.
Definitely head over to Apathesis' soundcloud, pretty much everything on there is sheer brilliance. Shame there's been nothing new for a while!

Lazers and Ravers

Quite a serious piece of tune here, from those Yankee fellas Lazer Sword. I'm sure you're aware of the value placed on the currency of bounce at this here blog, and 'Batman' packs it in abundance. Some very tasty touches layered over it as well, keeping it moving nicely:

Kanopa

Getting sooo much vibes from Melé, who is 100% on my watchlist for 'people that are fucking awesome'. Impossible not to move to this one - I had no idea someone from Merseyside could be so upbeat (I joke...). Big, big track, and plenty more on the SC worth checking out.

Cole Heart

A quick snippet from the legendary MJ Cole today, featuring a strings/harps run laid over some deep bass which is just awesome. Can't wait for the new EP - Cole is just too versatile!

Freaks

For those who like their bass with a little bounce, check this out - it's a kind of tech house infused funky number from Sclist. Not for everyone, but the incidentals and the percussion are on point.

Pushin' Silence

Feel like getting back on the future garage tip today. This is a bit from Joe Caithness out of Nottingham, who goes by the name of Littlefoot (that's right, I read the artist info on Soundcloud). His garagey approach to tech brings a bit of movement and change-up to his tunes, but I'm not sure if they're really dancefloor-ready. Or dancefloor-intended. One to watch, though!

Flutes

Right, don't usually post DnB because ... well, I don't know that much about it, if I'm brutally honest, and because it's usually a bit too quick for my laconic self. But this tune is actually a minor piece of genius. Track's called 'Princess', it's by a guy called Receptor who I know nothing about, and it's been out for about half a year. But so what?
The song features that flute sample, but it's probably the best use of it I've ever seen (heard), and aside from the traditional kind of jump-up/wile out edge, the whole things really not too aggressive compared to the rest of his stuff (and I've just listened to all his soundcloud tunes for at least 2 minutes, so I should know). Not my usual thing, but really not bad.

Lovely bit of chilled, end-of-summer hop here. The man's name is Dan Marshall, tune's called 'Mode Reset'. It's as smooth as they come... kick back and turn up!

The Max

This song is nowhere near being Dubstep, Future Garage, post-Dubstep, or whatever. Having said all that, it's an absolute masterpiece, so I'll post it anyway. (I was going to post a VVV bit called 'In Some Circles' but the links disappeared from Soundcloud - look out for that one, it's massive.)
Anyway, this is a track from the super famous and super talented Max Cooper. There's a million remixes of Hot Chip out there but for me, Mr Cooper has put out the best effort by a long way. Bit more pace than his usual stuff, but still very chilled...

Hot Chip - I Feel Better - Max Cooper Remix (Clip) by Max Cooper

And here's something a bit more true to form, Bristol Boy Akema with a deep, atmospheric dubstep number. Definitely a tune for that Sunday evening feeling.

Duncan Powell

Huge sub on this one from the massively versatile Duncan Powell. More dubsteppy than usual for the Garage maestro, but equally as massive as his normal tunes. His soundcloud is well worth checking out for anyone that's in to garage, hip hop or dubstep.

Resketch

Great bouncy niche-type track from Resketch - weirdly atmospheric but with a lot of movement. Stick with it. The cinematic beginning, like something out of an 80s sci-fi film, just doesn't prepare for the heavy bassline coming in with the drop. Top production from someone who's been consistently putting out solid FG tunes.

Tolerance

This guy is one producer everyone should keep half an eye on, even if he is from Wales. Heard nothing new from him recently, but he's produced some huge tracks, must-listens for anyone who hasn't heard 'em. This one's the most recent, but check out Chamber of Secrets on his Soundcloud as well, it's an absolute banger. Tracks forthcoming on N-Type's Wheel and Deal imprint.

Weep

Why not have a bit of drum and bass, eh? Something for a rainy day at least. This one by Skyweep is super chilled-out, liquid funk at its best. Beautiful airy vocals as well.

Massive atmospheric garage tune from Max.Well. Epic subs and synths, slightly over reverbed but definitely a decent effort from the Russian. Worth checking out 'No Matter' on his Soundcloud for something a little more composed.

Nice purpley sounding one from 501, very B.Bravo/Starkey with a little bit of 501s usual grind. Not too subby but pretty melodic.
